Hormone Replacement Therapy
For a little over a decade hormone replacement therapy has become increasingly popular among the male population. No longer reserved for only females suffering from menopause or the small percentage of transgender individuals, It has greatly begun to improve the lives of millions of men the world over.
What is HRT?
The idea behind male HRT is to first and foremost improve the male’s level of testosterone in the body. Injections, creams and sprays are often administered in the form of pure testosterone but testosterone is not the only hormone used in hormone replacement therapy in order to achieve a rejuvenation affect. The drug Nandrolone is also commonly used; nandrolone is a naturally occurring hormone in the body although in small quantities. Many HRT receive nandrolone doses in order to improve muscle growth, improve bone density and increase red blood cell count. As we age our muscle mass inevitably decreases as our natural hormone levels decrease; with the added exogenous amounts of testosterone and nandrolen through hormone replacement therapy, the individual can see the levels of these hormones improve and rise back to normal levels.
Another common hormone prescribed to HRT patients is Human Growth Hormone (HGH.) HGH is a peptide hormone that is protein based with a function responsible for cell repair and growth. HGH’s benefits are nearly endless, from aiding in keeping body fat low, to increasing lean muscle tissue, elevating energy levels and memory capacity, increasing libido, aiding in regulating sleep patterns and even protecting cells from decay. It’s no secret and easy to see why HGH has become a staple in so many hormone replacement therapy patients arsenal.
How to get Hormone Replacement Therapy?
In some cases your family physician will prescribe you the necessary drugs but many times seeking the help from an endocrinologist is a better bet. However, more increasingly, hormone replacement therapy clinics have begun to pop up on nearly every corner, sometimes called “Rejuvenation Clinics” or “Wellness Clinics.” Many of these clinics have come under a heavy fire in recent years, seeing many of the doctors who operate them heavily fined or even jailed. The accusation is many of these doctors are flying the banner of HRT in order to prescribe anabolic steroids and HGH to any and all comers. The law states there must be a medical reason for prescribing these powerful hormones yet at the same time, the law is also vague in some instances as to who qualifies for “medical purposes.” This is a problem and be it for better or worse you can guarantee we’ll see some changes to the realm of hormone replacement therapy in years to come.
